About the author: dr. Bieke Onghena

Dr. Bieke ONGHENA (female) is a Research Expert in the Binnemans’ group and member of the Management Board of SOLVOMET. Her main scientific interest lies in the application of metal speciation and coordination chemistry in non-aqueous solvent extraction and solvometallurgy. She was granted an individual PhD scholarship of the IWT (Flemish Institute for Innovation through Science and Technology) and is currently Project Manager in the Flemish SIM MaRes project SMART (coordinated by KU Leuven) and KU Leuven contact for the EU H2020 projects NEMO and TARANTULA.
