About the author: Dr. Andrea Di Maria

Andrea is a post-doctoral researcher at the " Sustainability Assessments of Material Life Cycles" group at KU Leuven. In his research activities, he is involved in several European projects dealing with the sustainability assessment of residues valorisation and energy efficiency strategies. 
Andrea graduated in environmental engineering at the University of Padua, in Italy, and he obtained his Phd at KU Leuven in 2018, with a thesis entitled "The challenge of circular economy in the concrete sector: Life cycle thinking approaches to assess the environmental and economic impact of alternatives to conventional concrete". Andrea’s current research interests focus on the environmental evaluation of new materials from recycled residues, and on the integration of environmental, economic and socal analysis to promote circular economy.
