About the author: Ir. Joren van Stee

Joren van Stee is a Belgian PhD student born in 1994. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Chemical (major) and Material (minor) Engineering (2016), and a Master’s degree in Chemical Engineering (2018) from KU Leuven. In 2018 he started his PhD in Chemical Engineering, KU Leuven, under supervision of prof. dr. ir. Tom Van Gerven for which he obtained an SB PhD fellowship of FWO-Flanders. Central to his research is the question how to recover cobalt through the use of ionic liquids and microfluidic reactors.
