About the author: Demian Kalebic

Demian Kalebic is a chemist from Croatia with great interest in organic synthesis, chemistry of natural compounds, medicinal and supramolecular chemistry. He obtained both his bachelor’s and master’s degree in chemistry at the Faculty of Science, University of Zagreb. During his studies he did research in synthesis and complexation properties of siderophore analogs as well as worked in the pharmaceutical industry. He participated in numerous outreach projects and events with audiences ranging from elementary and high-school students to general public. Currently, he works at KU Leuven as a PhD student on the topic of synthesis of novel chelating surfactants for the use in recovery of valuable metals.
