About the author: Alexandra Gomez Escobar

Alexandra Gomez Escobar is a geological engineer with over 6 years of experience in different areas of economy geology: geological modelling, resources estimation and technical, economic and legal valorization of mining properties. In addition, she has 2 years of international experience in geometallurgical characterization of industrial and metallic minerals and critical raw materials in England and France (Portuguese and German deposits). She was the general manager of a consultancy company focused in the geological, mining and environmental assessment of engineering projects. She has taken the role of main research engineer in the recovery of critical minerals from old tailings dumps and from primary raw materials. Alexandra has a B.Sc in Geological Engineering from the National University of Colombia and a triple diploma MSc degree in Georesources Engineering focused in geometallurgy from the University of Liege (Belgium), University of Lorraine (France) and Technical University of Lulea (Sweden).
